Cryptozoic has announced that they will be releasing a game called Arrival.
Acclaimed Board Game Designed by Martin Wallace Receives a Wide Release with Upgraded Art and Gameplay
While this game had a limited release at Essen Game Fair in 2016, but after nearly two years of work, The Arrival will be getting wide release on the 21st February, with upgraded art and gameplay.
Designed by Martin Wallace, The Arrival will have 2-4 players take on the roles of Tribe Leaders. Players will have to compete with both each other and the demon-like race of Fomori for control of ancient Ireland.
The playstyle of The Arrival allows for two different victory conditions, depending on whether the Tribes or the Fomori control more of the map. The wide release will come with upgraded art, improved components, and a new Advanced Game variant.
Martin Wallace, designer of The Arrival commented:
Martin Wallace, who had previously created Age of Steam and Brass earned the The Dice Tower's 'Seal of Excellence' for The Arrival. The enhanced, brighter, more stylish illustrations come from Kamila Szutenberg, who took her inspiration from Irish folklore.
The wide release of the game will alter the game board (such as changing the Corruption and Round Tracks) and other components so that the flow of the game is much smoother and accessible.
It will also include an 'Advanced Game' variant, giving each Tribe Leader a special ability, like extra actions, sparing the costs of actions, or having extra-strong fortifications.
The Arrival will play 2-4 people, ages 12+, for 75-90 minutes.
The retail price of The Arrival will be $40. For more information, check out The Arrival product page.
