The X-Files Teaser Poster

IDW Games have announced that they will be publishing X-Files: Conspiracy Theory – Everything is Connected on 21st March 2018.

In Everything Is Connected, you play as Agent Mulder, trying to prove that there are extraterrestrial beings on Earth. This storytelling and social deduction game will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the X-Files TV series.

Every turn, a player will draw a prompt card. Using evidence cards in your hand, you must form a cohesive story that fits the prompt. The aim is to convince the other players that your story is the truth.

The other players will then vote on whether your story is true. However, their vote is based on whether they think the other players will believe you. This means that the voters are trying to read the room, and get inside their opponents heads to vote effectively.

Game design will be led by Matt Fantastic, who also designed Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: Everything is Connected. The similarity of titles suggests that this kind of game will be a series. X-Files will include Jose Chung's "From Outer Space" variant rules.

IDW Games will be releasing X-Files: Conspiracy Theory – Everything is Connected on the 21st of March 2018 for $29.99
